2008 Paint Herndon Plein Air Competition & Exhibit – Participate in the first annual Paint Herndon Plein Air Competition from Aug. 29-Sept. 1st (Labor Day) in combination with the Jazz and Wine festival. This event will mark the grand opening of the ArtSpace Gallery in historic downtown Herndon, VA. Over $2,000 in prizes will be awarded and the work of juried artists will hang for the month of September. 43rd Chadds Ford Art Show - Join the Chadds Ford Art Show on Sept 6 & 7, 2008 for a new and fun experience. Nancy Campbell (Wayne Art Center) and Vic Wyeth ( Andrew's granddaughter) will be awarding over $3000 in cash and prizes to artists. The Brandywine area has a rich tradition of plein air painting. Applications accepted for jurying until 50 artists of high quality are selected. There will be a $250 award for a plein air painting. Look for Ad in HUNT magazine in June and an article outlining the history and new additions to this year's art show in COUNTY LINES MAGAZINE, August. Note: there is a Gallery Tent for artists who do not have their own tent, art demos, and a new exhibit in the Main Barn called " Through Artist's Eyes". Click here for additional information.

New Jersey Paint Out Plus with Instructor Ellen Gavin is scheduled for Sat., Sept. 27, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Millville, New Jersey. Paint street scenes with figures in plein air. Participation is limited to 20. Free to MAPAPA members. Register on http://www.mapapa.shuttlepod.org.
